The Halden Field complex opened in 1960 and since then has received few improvements.
The new stadium renovations will include new bleachers, an all-weather field, a nine-lane all-weather track, new concession facilities, a new entry way and new landscaping.
“I didn’t realize how much politics was going to be involved,” he says. “Which isn’t a bad thing. But it’s hard to figure out how to bring all the different interests together.”
To his credit, Mike is not deterred by a challenge. “I like doing difficult things, man. It gets me fired up,” he says. “We’re moving in the right direction, but I’m not a patient person.”
